perspective: Backtalk: a variety of experienced people talk about their first experiences with Punishmentality
Backtalk

Each issue we pick a question and physically force a different group of people, with very different backgrounds, to write about their own impressions of it.

We were moved recently by a letter from a reader, which actually nudged us into selecting "Consistency" as this issue's headspace.

"Judy" sent the following email, and instead of replying ourselves (you'll have heard enough from us by now!) we're passing it on to this issue's Backtalk conscripts:

You'll find the Backtalk thoughts of a happily-disciplined wife, a male "Daddy",  and a lifestyle Domme, following the note.

Dear Bobby and Carolyn,

Thanks for your great work. We've learned a lot and would like to respond to your request for questions about living this stuff in real life.

Don and me have been together for almost ten years. He's a great guy, I just couldn't have been luckier. He's sweet to me. Not like candy and flowers every day or anything but he listens to me and cares if I'm not happy and we laugh a lot and have fun. Everyone thinks he's just great, even my Dad likes him and that's saying something!

So I never had the nerve to tell him about how sometimes I wanted him to not be so totally nice. Not mean or anything but just that I saw how happy my Mom and Dad were and they had this old-fashioned thing.
